Andy Wilson

Attorney

Andy is an Omaha native. He has 35 years of litigation experience. He, along with partners JJ Puk and Larry Roland, started Wilson Puk LLP, in 2024 to use their collective 75 years of litigation experience to better serve their clients.

Andy began his career in Des Moines, Iowa, working on a variety of civil litigation matters. In 1993 he moved back to Omaha, taking a position with the Douglas County Public Defender’s office. Andy was a Senior Staff Attorney handing the most serious felony offenses, including drug trafficking, murder, and sexual assault. While he was at the Public Defender’s office, Andy had the most Not Guilty verdicts in bench trials over a 5-year span.

In 2000, Andy moved into private practice, using his courtroom experience to develop a civil litigation practice, primarily focusing on personal injury claims. In his prior firms, he has served in variety of roles, including firm president.

Andy has an extensive trial background, including over 40 jury trials and seven hundred bench trials, both criminal and personal injury, as lead counsel. In 2013, in one of his criminal trials, a jury returned a Not Guilty verdict in less than 15 minutes. For that case, Andy was awarded the Jury Trial of the Year award from the Federal Public Defender’s office. When a trial is necessary, Andy has tested and extensive trial experience that many others do not have.

Andy has over 25 years of experience handling personal injury claims, which includes the unique experience of working with insurance companies for over 15 years. He now only represents injured parties. His ability to understand the perspective of claims adjusters is a crucial skill that he brings to his personal injury clients that many attorneys do not have.

Andy also has experience in complex business disputes, real estate litigation, construction litigation, employment litigation, and appellate work, known for clear writing and sharp courtroom presentation. He spots the issues early on in a case early so that his clients are prepared for resolution through the litigation process.

Success Stories

It’s What We Do.

Serious Charges Dismissed

Mr. Wilson’s experience and professional relationships were imperative in helping to resolve my case. He will keep you informed as to how your case is progressing when appropriate. Andy will take steps to reduce your out-of-pocket costs and can be trusted to handle your specific situation. I was very satisfied with the eventual outcome and ultimately glad that I chose him to represent me in court.

Disaster Case Turnaround

Mr. Puk represented me in a complicated and difficult case which was previously handled by and disastrously settled by a different lawyer, who unfortunately did not possess the proficiency of Jon Puk. My experience with him is that he is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable in his profession. He doesn’t waste time and knows exactly when to take action and when to hold back. He is sharp, shrewd and thorough in the treatment of details-all qualities that I’m sure have contributed to his success. I do not have trouble reaching him or his legal assistant and my questions and concerns are always addressed. He is honest and straightforward when discussing my case, advising me yet allowing me to make my own decisions. If you want an attorney that you can trust, Mr. Puk is the one to hire.

Injury Claim — Clear Plan, Excellent Result

A family friend recommended Andy Wilson to handle our injury claim after we were in a four-car accident in 2017. We were so pleased to meet Andy and discuss our approach. His assessment and plan of attack were explained simply and honestly. All our actions were easy as Andy led the way and his office helped make everything as convenient as possible. Our trust in him improved and improved. We felt we could trust him to tell us what to do, we knew he was well versed. We were extremely happy with our settlement. We would recommend Andy Wilson to anyone.
